How we started

Education Outdoors Inc. was created by Tim Paczesny in 2005. Before Education Outdoors, Tim had founded a non-profit organization called “The League of Extraordinary Outdoorsmen”. The League organized a family fishing day once a year that was held during the free fishing weekend in Michigan. During this event, Tim realized the need to educate children and their families about the outdoors. The motivating factor to this initial realization occurred while Tim was gathering Morel mushrooms with his wife and two daughters in Northern Michigan. Tim’s daughter noticed an animal track on the ground and asked her dad what it could be. He told her that it was a raccoon track. “Dad, how did you learn all the things you know about nature?” With that question, Education Outdoors Inc. was created and its first educational board game was about to be developed. During the winter of 2005 and into 2006, Tim was dedicated to making his dream become a reality. He finished 400 questions and 100 fun facts about animals and the great outdoors. This completed the first game called “Camp— The Game That Grows With You”.

CAMP Board Game Testimonials

“CAMP is just right in length - not too long or too short to play with elementary age kids. Its fast pace keeps everyone involved and on their toes. The flexibility of leveled, nature related questions includes players of all knowledge levels. Kids and adults alike enjoy using the camp decoder to check their answers. CAMP encourages each player to read and practice multiple-choice test-taking skills. CAMP is a great educational addition to any classroom or family room! ”

“I purchased the CAMP game at the Hunting and Fishing Expo in Traverse City. I have a 6 year old and a 12 year old, so finding games that we can play all together is quite difficult sometimes. We have to play this game over and over again every time we play because they just can't get enough! I plan to get it for all of my nieces and nephews for Christmas this year! ”
—Charity Sawyer

“We were so excited when we first learned of this game! We advertised CAMP on local radio and in the paper - and the response was unbelievable! We donated $4 from each game to our local Big Brothers Big Sisters Outdoor Mentoring Program and our customers LOVED that idea! We sold out 4 times before Christmas. Thank you Education Outdoors for developing such an awesome game! ”

Northern Lodge Down & Gifts

“My brother, Gene Thier, bought the CAMP game for my family as a Christmas gift. I have a 7 year-old (that loves to play board games) and a 3 1/2 yearold (that is just learning). He purchased the game from you in Central Lake on Window Night. Ethan (7) was invited to a birthday party this month and I asked him if he had any ideas for a gift. The party is for a pair of twins that are turning 8, that go camping with their Mom & Dad during the summer. The Camp game was one of his favorite Christmas presents and that was his request to give as a gift. He is very proud to give them this game and the boys getting it will love it. Thank you for developing this amazing game of interesting questions and wonderful fun facts. We all enjoy playing it!The four levels of questions is perfect for any family. Ethan is challenged with level two and level three questions and Jack is proud of himself when he answers a level one question right. It is not too long and not too short. There are nights where we play it once or twice and other nights we play it 5 or more times. ”
—Sharon Michael and family

“As a family-oriented outdoor magazine, we were extremely excited to see CAMP at the Wisconsin Deer Classic in Green Bay. The different skill levels mean that there’s always an opportunity to learn more about the great outdoors - and to become closer as a family. I would highly recommend CAMP to anyone who wants to share their love for the outdoors, especially with the younger generation.”

“I bought the CAMP game at Scheel ’s Sporting Goods in Fargo. I brought it home to my wife and 2

RVers & campers

Camping season will be upon us shortly... (we just have to wait for this last bit of winter to move out of Northern MI.) A Memorial Day weekend at the beautiful Barnes Park on Lake Michigan is where we start things off. This weekend tradition / mini family reunion has been a great way to catch up with loved ones, enjoy the great outdoors and most importantly relax. Our annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament with my brother- in-laws and a level four CAMP trivia challenge are one of the many highlights of the weekend. As grandchildren start arriving, we're so excited about having a tradition in place that embraces quality family time & the great outdoors.

This year KOA campgrounds has given CAMP their endorsment as a recommended camping & RV game for families. Thanks to everyone who has helped us create the only outdoors board game for the whole family.
